King and Erb Streets to reopen this Friday

Waterloo Region –This year’s streetscaping and reconstruction work on King and Erb Streets in Uptown Waterloo has been mostly completed and the streets will be reopened to traffic at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1.

The new enhanced streetscape elements make King Street more accessible for all modes of transportation, including pedestrians and cyclists and improves connections in Uptown Waterloo and community links with surrounding neighbourhoods.

Some miscellaneous work will continue on Erb Street in December and the remaining landscaping work / bike lanes on King Street will be completed in the spring of 2018.

We would like to thank the UpTown Waterloo businesses and the public for their partnership, cooperation and patience during the construction.

UpTown Waterloo businesses will be hosting a Holiday Marketplace on December 1-3, to celebrate the end of the construction season and beginning of the holidays. Guests are invited to visit Santa, ride a horse-drawn trolley, and enjoy holiday shopping, activities, music and more. More information is available online at www.uptownwaterloobia.com.
