Inaugural Regional Council meeting marks new session

Waterloo Region – Tonight, Justice Patrick Flynn presided over the swearing in of the 2014 - 2018 Regional Council. The ceremony was attended by family, friends, special guests and members of the public.

Regional Chair Ken Seiling concluded his address to Council and guests present by stating, “I believe in this Region. I want to see it continue to prosper. We need to preserve the things that it has always valued – care for the land, care for people, stewardship of what we have, and vision to invest in the future - so we can pass along to our children and grandchildren the successful, yet caring and compassionate community we have all enjoyed.”

Committee Chairs and Vice-Chairs were also appointed and are as follows:

Council’s first meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
