How does the Labour Day holiday Monday affect Regional services?

Waterloo Region – Here’s a list of Region of Waterloo service changes for the Labour Day holiday, Monday, September 1, 2014.

What’s open/not affected:

Grand River Transit
GRT bus routes will be operating on a Sunday service schedule on Monday, September 1. *Reminder:  Fall Service Changes effective September 1, 2014*
GRT Terminal hours of operation will not be affected.
GRT customer service – Hours of operation 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. will not be affected.

Region of Waterloo International Airportwill not be affected.

Waste/recycling/green bin/yard waste pick up will not be affected.
Cambridge, Waterloo and all rural waste transfer stations will be closed Monday, September 1.

Waterloo Region Museum Open - Regular Museum hours.

What’s Closed:

All Regional Administrative Offices (99 Regina – Waterloo, 150 Frederick – Kitchener, 150 Main – Cambridge, Airport Administrative offices) – Closed Monday, September 1

Regional Daycare centers and Home Child Care – Closed Monday, September 1.

Sunnyside Seniors Services
Sunnyside Home Reception – Closed, Monday, September 1.
Fabulous Finds Gift Shop – Closed, Monday, September 1.
Sand hills Café - Open
Sunnyside Wellness CentreClosed, Monday, September 1.

All Regional Libraries
Branches will be closed Monday, September 1

Joseph Schneider Haus – Join us this weekend for “Schnibbles and Schnitz” as the Schneiders prepare for winter by drying and pickling corn, beets and beans on Sat. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun. 1 to 5 p.m. Closed, Monday, September 1.


McDougall Cottage Closed, Monday, September 1.
