How does Canada Day and holiday Monday affect services at the Region?

Waterloo Region – Here’s a list of Region of Waterloo service changes for Canada Day, Sunday July 1 and holiday Monday, July 2, 2012.

What’s open/not affected:

GRT Terminals hours of operation will not be affected.

GRT customer Service – Monday July 2, 2012
Hours of operation 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. will not be affected.

 Waterloo Region Museum – Open - Canada Day

Sunday, July 1, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. FREE Admission to museum & village! Waterloo Region Museum is throwing a party to celebrate Canada Day and you’re invited! Music! Games! Bring lunch or purchase BBQ lunch!

Regular admission and hours on Monday July 2, 2012.

Joseph Schneider Haus -  Open  July 1, 2012  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Outdoor activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Top off the day with a slice of birthday cake at 2 p.m.  FREE Admission!

Monday, July 2, 2012, the celebration continues.  Open 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Join us for a wagon ride with St. Jacob’s Horse Drawn Tours from noon to 4 p.m. $2 per ride.  

Regular admission rates apply on Monday, July 2, 2012 

McDougall Cottage Open  Canada Day, Sunday, July 1, 2012 from noon to 5 p.m.

Scots Wha Hae! Celebrate your Scottish heritage on Canada Day. Tea and shortbreads at the Cottage will be free fer all who “plaid up” in their tartans. Noon to 5 p.m. Admission is by donation.

Region of Waterloo International Airport – will not be affected.

Waste/recycling pick up will not be affected. Pick up as usual on holiday Monday, July 2, 2012.

What’s Closed:

All Regional Administrative Offices (99 Regina – Waterloo, 150 Frederick – Kitchener, 150 Main – Cambridge, Airport Administrative offices) – Closed 

All Regional Libraries – Closed 

Regional Daycare centres and Home Child Care – Closed 

Sunnyside Home Administrative Office and Bank – Closed
Sunnyside Community Alzheimer Day Program - Closed
Sunnyside Wellness Centre - Closed
Sunnyside Reception - Closed
