Help Cambridge firefighters "Fill the Boot" for muscular dystrophy
The Cambridge Professional Firefighters Association (CPFFA) is holding their annual "Fill the Boot" event in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada this Saturday, Sept. 23 from 9-5 a.m. at the Cambridge Centre. The fundraising goal for this year is $30,000.
Cambridge firefighters and their families will be on site collecting donations at all roadway entrances to the Cambridge Centre and in front of the Zehrs at the mall.
The fundraising event will also feature:
- A formal kickoff at 11 a.m. in the parking lot near The Bay
- A display by the Cambridge Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre
- Cambridge Fire Department vehicles on display
- An appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog
The CPFFA has been supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada since 1969, helping to raise more than half a million dollars to date. The money raised through this program helps improve the quality of life for those families affected by neuromuscular disorders: from financial assistance to emotional support, advocacy to education, this event can help change lives.
