GRT customer appreciation information

Waterloo Region – All Grand River Transit buses, including MobilityPLUS buses, will resume service on Thursday, May 11, and customer service centres will reopen.

MobilityPLUS bookings will open on Wednesday, May 10, for rides starting on May 11. Trips can be booked online or by calling 519-744-2241.

The Region of Waterloo understands that residents rely on transit on a daily basis and to show our appreciation for our customers, no fares will be collected on transit from Thursday, May 11, up to and including May 22, Victoria Day. This includes all bus services as well as ION light rail service. Customers who purchased a May monthly pass before May 8 will receive a June pass.

No fares collected

  • From May 11 to 22, all GRT customers will be welcomed back and no fares will be collected on transit
  • Do not tap your card before boarding.

June monthly passes

Customers who purchased a May monthly pass will get a June pass.

  • Monthly passes on EasyGO fare cards: June passes will be added to EasyGO fare cards automatically. Customers won’t need to call or visit a Customer Service Centre.
  • MobilityPLUS customers: Bring your May monthly pass to a GRT Customer Service Centre and a June pass will be provided. To arrange for someone to pick up your June pass, please call 519-585-7597 ext. 7347. Customer Service Centres are located at: 250 Strasburg Rd. Kitchener, 35 Ainslie Street S., Cambridge and 105 King St. E., Kitchener.
