First ION vehicle Open House set for Saturday

Waterloo Region – This Saturday, residents will have a unique opportunity to see and tour the first ION light rail transit (LRT) vehicle during a community open house.

The event will take place inside the Region of Waterloo’s Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMSF), located at 518 Dutton Drive in Waterloo, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Staff from ION, Bombardier and GrandLinq will be available during the event to answer questions as residents tour the train.

Residents will have another chance to see the ION vehicle during Doors Open on September 16.
