“Every Dose Counts” vaccine weekend at Bingemans in Kitchener

Waterloo Region – The vaccination clinic at Bingemans Conference Centre will be in full operation this Saturday and Sunday. The Region of Waterloo is opening approximately 20,000 additional appointments to encourage residents to get vaccinated at the “Every Dose Counts” vaccine weekend on July 10-11.

“This weekend will provide thousands of additional residents the opportunity to get their first or second dose,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Waterloo. “I would encourage residents not to delay getting protection from the COVID-19 virus and the highly contagious Delta variant. Plan to get two doses of the vaccine as soon as possible for your best protection.”

Appointments are now available between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday at Bingemans Conference Centre, 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener. Walk-ins will be welcome for first doses. Residents can book an appointment on the Region’s website for a first or second dose of the vaccine.

“Many residents who book an appointment at Bingemans Conference Centre will be receiving their vaccine through the new Hockey Hub vaccination clinic model that we are introducing to the Region this week,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Service and head of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “In an effort to further ramp up the administration of vaccines, we have partnered with Bruce Power to bring an innovative vaccination clinic model to the community.”

The vaccination clinic at Bingemans Conference Centre will be administering the Moderna vaccine on Saturday and Sunday for anyone 18 years of age and older. Pfizer will be available for youth 12-17 years of age.

To make it easier to get to Bingemans Conference Centre this coming weekend, a free shuttle bus will be running every 20 minutes between Central Station (stop 1474 at King and Victoria) and Bingemans. More information is available on the Grand River Transit website.

Members of the public who have an appointment for a second dose later in August or September are encouraged to rebook their second-dose appointment for an earlier date: Rebook a second dose appointment.

In addition to public vaccination clinics, residents can also get their vaccine at one of 123 pharmacies in the region as well as many family practices.
