Discussions kick off today at 2020 AMO conference
City of Cambridge Mayor Kathryn McGarry, along with other Councillors from the City and Region of Waterloo, will be attending the Association of Municipalities of Ontario's 2020 AMO Conference this week. This is the first time in the conference’s history that it will held online.
The annual conference is a chance for municipal officials to discuss shared challenges and opportunities for their communities. In addition to the conference program, municipal staff and elected officials will take part in virtual meetings with provincial ministries.
Mayor McGarry will be part of regional delegation on a variety of topics, as well as lead Cambridge specific meetings. This includes meetings with the:
- Ministry of Transportation
- Ministry of Health
- Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture
Discussions will include the following priority areas:
- ION Stage 2
- Cambridge GO link to Kitchener Line
- Key transportation investments for Cambridge
- Addictions support
- Recreation infrastructure funding
- Economic response to COVID-19
