COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Opening in Waterloo and Cambridge

Waterloo Region – The Vaccine Distribution Task Force is announcing that the large public health clinic at 435 The Boardwalk, in Waterloo will open Thursday, March 4 and will begin vaccinating adults 80 years of age and older, followed by others who are eligible as part of the Phase One priority populations.

An additional clinic location will also open in Cambridge during the week of March 8 to serve adults 80 years of age and older and others who are eligible in Phase One. Both of these clinic locations will offer increased accessibility options for community members. The location of this clinic will be announced later this week.

To attend a vaccination clinic, residents must have an appointment and be eligible under provincial guidance for Phase One. Eligible residents are encouraged to pre-register. Those who have pre-registered will be contacted to set up an appointment; more details will be provided at the time of booking. For more information about who is eligible and how to pre-register, visit our website. All plans continue to be dependent on vaccine availability.

“We are excited to be opening two more COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Waterloo Region,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Service and head of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “The Vaccine Distribution Task Force is working with community partners to get vaccines to residents as quickly as possible and according to provincial guidelines. We understand that many residents are anxious about when it will be their turn to be vaccinated. We will continue to provide updates to the public so everyone is aware of when it’s their turn and where they can go to be vaccinated.”

Residents who are vaccinated still need to continue to follow public health guidelines to protect themselves and others, and to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the community. These guidelines include continuing to wear a mask and practicing physical distancing.
