Construction Notice: Nightly Closure of Intersection in City of Cambridge, October 15-17
About the project
50mm of the existing asphalt will be removed and replaced with 50mm of new asphalt. New pavement markings will be applied.
Closures
The following intersections will be closed to through traffic in the night:
- Franklin Blvd. and Can-Amera Parkway; and
- Franklin Blvd. and Sanginaw Parkway/Elgin St.
Timing - October 15 to 17, overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Both intersections will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. starting Sunday October 15 until Tuesday October 17. The intersections will be opened to traffic during the day.
This nighttime work enables a full bridge closure to enhance worker safety, minimize traffic disruptions, and ensure a quality final surface. A daytime closure is not feasible due to the high volume of traffic using the bridge.
Traffic
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route. Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) have been notified of the construction, closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.
Pedestrian access
The sidewalks in this area will remain accessible during the project. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk through the site.
Property and business access
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible during construction. Every effort will be made to maintain access to residential and business driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.). Construction activities may temporarily impact access to entrances. We will provide notice of any interruption in advance as much as possible.
Please plan for some delays and travel carefully in the construction zone. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
