Construction notice: Heidelberg Water Servicing Townships of Wellesley and Woolwich - July 2, 2024

About the project

The Region is upgrading water services in the community of Heidelberg. Work includes the construction of a new watermain from St. Clements to Heidelberg, and service connections to unserviced properties along Lobsinger Line in the town of Heidelberg.

Timing — starts July 2, 2024

Construction will begin around July 2 and extend into October 2024.

Asphalt paving is planned in 2025 and 2026. 

Traffic impacts — Lobsinger Line and Kressler Road

We will maintain two-way traffic during construction, but we may need to close lanes temporarily. Traffic may need to travel on a gravel surface due to construction in certain areas or traffic may be directed by flag persons.

Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) have been notified of the construction, to minimize any disruptions to services.

Pedestrian access

Pedestrian will continue to have access during construction. Please follow the signs posted.

Property and business access

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible during construction. Every effort will be made to maintain access to business driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities may temporarily impact access to entrances. We will provide notice of any interruption in advance as much as possible.

Please plan for some delays and travel carefully in the construction zone. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
