Construction Notice: Fountain Street and Dickie Settlement Road Improvements, October 21-22

About the project

Fountain Street and Dickie Settlement Road Improvements and the intent of this letter is to provide a general update on the status of the work and to provide notice of an upcoming weekend road closure. Construction of the Fountain Street and Dickie Settlement Road is nearing completion. Road work (including base course asphalt) along with the construction of paved shoulders and most of the boulevard restoration will be finished in the next couple weeks.

Closures - Fountain Street at Dickie Settlement Road and Dickie Settlement Road at Fountain Street

Access to all properties will be accommodated via the detour routes and/or local access routes. Roadway signage will be posted in advance to advise motorists of the upcoming closure and advisory signs will be in place to recommend alternate routes when the work is taking place.

Timing - October 21 to 22

A weekend road closures is currently planned on Saturday October 21st and Sunday October 22nd to facilitate surface course paving and final pavement marking placement at the Fountain Street & Dickie Settlement Road intersection within the project limits. These planned closure dates are weather dependent and subject to change. If conditions are not suitable on October 21/22 the back up plans is scheduled for October 28/29.

Detour

A formal detour will not be set in place for this work. Alternate route advisory signs will be set in place prior to and during the work encouraging drivers to use New Dundee Road, Roseville Road and Blair Road.

There may be periods during construction when traffic will need to be controlled with flag persons. Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) have been notified of the construction, closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalks in this area will remain accessible during the project. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk through the site.

Property and business access

If your business is open to the public on weekends, or if you have weekend heavy truck deliveries planned, and you have questions regarding the access route to your property please feel free to contact Jeff Nyenhuis (contact info below) in advance.

Please plan for some delays and travel carefully in the construction zone. We request that when driving or walking through and around the construction zone you follow and obey the construction traffic signage for your safety and for the safety of the workers.
