Construction Notice: Closure of Concession Street Bridge, October 16
About the project
The Region reinstalled a watermain along the Concession Street Bridge in Cambridge that was damaged during 2018 flooding and ice debris on the Grand River. Construction between Grand Avenue and Water Street South is nearing completion with final restoration work anticipated to occur in October 2023.
Closures - Concession Street between Water Street and Grand Avenue
A full closure of Concession Street Bridge in Cambridge is required to facilitate overnight asphalt paving following successful completion of the watermain installation.
Timing - October 16, overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Final asphalt restoration will take place on both the west and east sides of Concession Street Bridge on October 16 (weather dependant). This work will be done overnight starting at 8 p.m. and finishing at 5 a.m.
This nighttime work enables a full bridge closure to enhance worker safety, minimize traffic disruptions, and ensure a quality final surface. A daytime closure is not feasible due to the high volume of traffic using the bridge.
