Cambridge, Ontario. Sept. 2, 2016… The Cambridge multiplex site evaluation assessment task force is holding a second open house to collect and refine community input on key factors for choosing a site for the City’s multi-use recreation facility.

The open house will be held on:

Date: Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016

Times: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Place: Cambridge City Hall- Bowman room, 50 Dickson St.

A multiplex site evaluation assessment task force meeting will follow the public meeting at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The public meeting will allow community member to provide input on the key priorities that are important when considering a proposed multiplex site. A discussion and input table, input boards and comment cards will all be available to document input.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to see some early summary data of the results of the Cambridge multiplex survey which was available on the City’s community engagement platform, www.engagecambridge.ca. Nearly 1,700 responses were submitted before the survey closed on Friday, Aug. 26.

“We’re really pleased with the number of responses we’ve had to the online survey and at the public meetings that have been set up” notes the task force chair, Chris Smith. “The location of the City’s new multiplex is an important decision so I’m glad we’ve been able to hear from a wide range of community members.”

The task force will assess a variety of potential sites using criteria that have been refined through the public engagement process.

More information on the Cambridge multiplex project, ongoing engagement opportunities and a schedule of task force meetings are available at www.cambridge.ca/multiplex.
