City of Cambridge recognized for its commitment to financial transparency and accountability
For the third year in a row, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) honoured the City of Cambridge with a Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for the City’s annual financial report (2017).
The award program recognizes Canadian local governments that go above and beyond in the preparation of annual financial reports modelling transparency and full disclosure. It is a significant accomplishment for a municipal government to receive the award, with only 73 awards given out nationwide for 2017.
The City is committed to providing open, transparent, accountable and innovative leadership in local governance. Recognition of this award reflects the City’s strategic plan by showing a focus on the responsible management of financial resources, ensuring transparency and accountability.
