Celebrating the people who drive Durham

For 20 years the Durham Region Transit team has helped residents travel safely and reliably to work, school, shopping,  appointments and essential services. Every area of transit plays a part in this effort, from frontline staff to the individuals and teams working tirelessly behind the scenes.

March 18 is Transit Worker Appreciation Day. It’s a chance to recognize the dedication, professionalism and heart behind the service so many residents and the Region of Durham rely on.

Meet some of the people who move us.

We’re honoured to highlight just a few of the incredible individuals who make up our transit team. Each story reflects the pride, skill and commitment that defines our workforce.

Join us in saying thank you

We encourage riders, community members and colleagues to take a moment on March 18, or any day, to:

  • Say thank you to a transit worker
  • Recognize the people who make your daily transit trips possible

Happy Transit Worker Appreciation Day!
