Celebrate Earth Week with a tour of the Waterloo landfill
Waterloo Region – To celebrate Earth Week, the Region of Waterloo is offering free public tours on Saturday, April 26 at the Waterloo landfill site. Residents can take a one-hour guided tour of the landfill tipping face and the Nyle Ludolph Materials Recycling Centre to see what happens to the stuff they put to the curb. Residents can get a closer look at recycling and garbage/green bin collection trucks, and landfill vehicles. Displays featuring the blue box, green bin and other waste diversion programs will also be available.
Bus tours will run every half hour and are suitable for all ages.
