Celebrate Canada Day in Cambridge this weekend (1)

Cambridge, Ontario. June 24, 2019…  Enjoy the Canada Day long weekend in Cambridge with a day-long event in Riverside Park, fun activities, and kids’ crafts at the Farmers’ Market.

Find everything for the perfect Canada Day barbeque at the Cambridge Farmers’ Market, open 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. Shop a wide variety of local vendors featuring fresh meats, produce and cheeses. In honour of Canada Day, a kids’ craft station will be running featuring a Canada-themed craft and shoppers can enjoy a sampling fresh strawberries.

After shopping, take advantage of the long weekend weather and spend some time outside at one of our parks or outdoor pools. City spray pads are open all weekend long and George Hancock and Ed Newland pools are offering free swims on Canada Day.

Canada Day celebrations in Riverside Park, 49 King St. W., begin on Monday, July 1 at 8 a.m. with a fishing derby followed by the annual parade at 10 a.m. The parade will travel a new route this year running along Concession Road beginning at Trico Drive and ending at Dunbar Road. Then head back to Riverside Park to continue celebrating. The annual event features carnival rides, a children’s play area, retail and food vendors, a beer garden and live entertainment. The fireworks display is set for 9:40 p.m. Learn more at www.cambridgecanadaday.ca
