#CaptureCambridge is LIVE!!

#CaptureCambridge is a crowdsource project being launched by the Economic Development Division in conjunction with Technology Services, to catalogue the unique film assets we have in the city.

We are encouraging our residents to get out and explore our amazing city in an effort to discover new potential film locations, and encourage projects to take place throughout our entire community.  We want to build upon the tremendous community pride we have here in Cambridge and celebrate the phenomenal views and vistas that can be found throughout our city!  This map will be open and accessible for approximately 4 weeks, and once completed, the data will be migrated to a map that will assist film industry professionals in discovering everything Cambridge has to offer their projects.

This project is based on the ESRI ArcGIS (Geographical Information Systems) online platform and combines mapping information, pictures, text, and public participation to gather information and tell a story.  #CaptureCambridge is concentrating on collecting information regarding the landscapes that set our community apart, in an effort to better respond to film inquiries received by our office.

How to participate:

  • Visit our project page and review the dos, don’ts and participation disclaimer
  • Grab your camera or favourite mobile device, and go explore our community
  • Take pictures and upload them to our crowdsource map
  • Pat yourself on the back for doing an amazing job to help us attract more film projects to our community!
