Cambridge residents required to have garbage out by 7 a.m. starting September 9 to 13, 2019 or risk missed collection

Waterloo Region – Due to construction at the Cambridge transfer station, garbage collection service for the City of Cambridge will change slightly.  During the rest of September and into October, trucks which usually collect throughout the day in both cities of Cambridge and Waterloo will instead collect garbage from Cambridge in the morning, and from Waterloo in the afternoon.

Garbage will still be collected on the same regular collection day. All Cambridge residents are asked to ensure their garbage is at the curb for 7:00 a.m. on their collection day.  Residents used to seeing trucks on their street later in the day will be visited much earlier than usual, and trucks will not be able to return to pick up late-placed items.

Residents in the City of Waterloo will still have their garbage collected on their regular day as well, but may see garbage collection happen later on that day than they may be used to. Collection of green bins and blue boxes will still happen on the regularly scheduled day for both Cambridge and Waterloo, and will be spread throughout the day as usual in both cities.

The Region of Waterloo Waste Management Division would like to remind all residents that schedules and routes can often change without notice due to construction, weather or equipment/staffing issues, and having waste out by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day is the best way to ensure collection for all waste items.  For more information about all our waste collection and diversion programs, please visit our website at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/waste.
