Cambridge recognized for financial reporting for 7th straight year
Cambridge, Ontario. (February 27, 2023). For the 7th straight year, Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded a Canadian Award for Financial Reporting to the City of Cambridge for its annual financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021.
The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting program was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports. This award recognizes Canadian municipalities that go above and beyond in the preparation of their annual financial reports, modelling transparency and full disclosure.
Receiving this award represents a significant accomplishment by a local government and its management. It also demonstrates the City’s ongoing commitment to the responsible management of its financial resources, ensuring transparency and accountability – a key principle of Cambridge Connected, the City’s Strategic Plan.
“Congratulations to our finance team for receiving this prestigious award for the creation of our annual report for the 7th year in a row”, said Cambridge Mayor Jan Liggett. “Each year, this team continues to create an annual report that allows us to share our accomplishments and our vision for the City”
