Annual Fleece to Fabric Frolic at Joseph Schneider Haus - May 3 and 4
Spinning, weaving, felt making, sheep shearing and more!
Kitchener - May 3 and 4, the Region of Waterloo’s, Joseph Schneider Haus National Historic Site will be humming with activity as the Wash House opens for the season.
Costumed staff will demonstrate spinning on the great wheel, traditional wool dyeing techniques and more! Learn to pick and card wool. Lend a hand as Folk Artist-in-Residence 2014, Sue Firkser demonstrates traditional felt carpet making.
Sunday, May 4 from noon to 5 p.m. watch sheep shearing demonstrations and see Sheep to Shawl teams and Spinner’s challenge each other in friendly competition. Interested in competing? Contact the museum today!
