Accessing information about the Region of Waterloo just got easier!

A new website launched today by the Region of Waterloo is easier to use, more interactive and offers features that citizens can use daily. Highlights of the new site include: real time updates of bus schedules and daily construction detours; a bus trip; maps; easy A-Z service lists; public health news on clinics and more.

Social media links to various Region services helps users ask questions, get instant updates and might even alert you to a seat sale at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. Event calendars mark public input sessions and council meeting dates where public opinion is always needed.

“We’ve created a single source of information so anyone can find what they need from the Region of Waterloo. Whether it’s a parent looking for child care, a person wishing to know what items can go in their blue box for recycling, a family looking for fun events at museums, a young professional trying to find out the fastest way to get to work by bus, a senior citizen looking for more affordable housing, or a business person needing to book a flight to Montreal, it’s all here and easy to find,” said Ken Seiling, Regional Chair.

In just a few clicks you can email a councillor, reserve a book at any Region of Waterloo Library, find out your lawn watering day, look for a job, learn what goes in your green bin or get the date for a public meeting in your neighbourhood.

Although the new website went live today, the Region is open to adding new features. “Every effort is being made to make the website accessible,” said Kris Fletcher, Regional Clerk.  “Our website is one of the main ways citizens access our services and we are committed to its continuous improvement.”
