Arenas and Ice Rinks

There are five arenas with nine ice pads located through the City of St. Catharines for all to enjoy. Get involved in the wide variety of healthy activities offered at these arenas for all ages and skill levels.

Bill Burgoyne Memorial Arena is located at 129 Linwell Road.

Bill Burgoyne Memorial Arena is open 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight.

This arena holds a single ice rink on a concrete slab floor (approximately 185 feet long by 85 feet wide) with seating and standing room capacity for 800 spectators. This facility is accessible and easily accessed by public transit.

Merritton Centennial Arena is located at 5 Park Avenue.

Merritton Centennial Arena is open 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight.

This arena holds a single ice rink on a concrete slab floor.

Features of the Merritton Centennial Arena include:

  • Concession Stand
  • Seating
  • Timekeeping Clock
  • Automatic external defibrillator

The Meridian Centre is located on 1 David S. Howes Way.

This arena is a multi-function sports complex with an NHL sized rink and unique spaces to host events of any size. The arena is one of St. Catharines largest arenas. It serves the Niagara IceDogs and Niagara River Lions. It has attracted world-class entertainment to the City's core including performances from Elton John, City and Colour, Cirque du Soleil, and the Tragically Hip.

Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre is open 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.

This arena boasts features including:

  • Four NHL sized ice rinks (Wormald, Masse, Keen and Lopinski Mini Rink)

This facility is accessible with Braille signage and is easily accessed by public transit. This arena also offers features including:

Walker Sports and Abilities Centre is located at Canada Games Park at 2021 Canada Games Way in Thorold.

Walker Sports and Abilities Centre is open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

These facilities include the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre, consisting of two NHL-sized ice-rinks (one seating approximately 1200, the other about 200).
