Lake Street Reconstruction

The City is preparing to undertake reconstruction of Lake Street, from Ontario Street to Welland Avenue, in summer 2022, with a commitment to improving the City’s infrastructure.

The proposed construction project includes:

• Roadway reconstruction
• Improvements to sidewalk infrastructure
• replacement of all sidewalks to improve condition
• addition of sidewalk along Montebello Park
• widening in some areas
• installation of tactile warning plates for accessibility
• Sanitary sewer replacement
• Watermain replacement

Lake Street is a medium density residential and mixed-use urban corridor. Construction is tentatively set to start summer 2022.

Public Information Centre

Prior to the start of construction, the City sought the input of area residents on the proposed plans.

A virtual Public Information Centre will ran between May 27 and June 5 on EngageSTC.
