About

Mayor Mat Siscoe has served as the Mayor of St. Catharines since November 2022, following a tenure on Council for St. Patrick’s Ward from 2010 to January 2022. He was appointed to Regional Council after the passing of Sandie Bellows and has 15 years of experience as a high school physics teacher.

Active in the community, Mayor Siscoe has coached youth sports and volunteered with Out of the Cold. One of his key achievements as Mayor is establishing the St. Catharines OutReach and Engagement Fund (SCORE), which supports local non-profits.

He and his wife Chrissy have four children—Xavier, Canaan, Darius, and Sophia—along with two dogs and four cats. Inspired by his family and students, Mayor Siscoe is committed to creating a vibrant community for future generations.

Currently, he serves as Co-Chair for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, is part of the Municipal Finance Sub-Committee for Ontario Big City Mayors, and chairs both the Niagara Transit Commission and Niagara Regional Housing Board of Directors. Mayor Siscoe is dedicated to working collaboratively with Council and city staff to foster a thriving community.
