Snow Removal Program
The City of St. Catharines offers a snow removal program. The program includes the removal of snow from City sidewalks that border the home of an eligible individual with a disability.
Apply for snow removal service
Please complete the Sidewalk Snow Removal Service Application and submit it either by mail or in person to City Hall at 50 Church St.
Applications are due annually by November 30
Eligibility
You will need a statement of physician from your family doctor to apply for the program. To qualify for snow removal service, you must:
- Have a disability that, in the opinion of your physician, makes you incapable of carrying out snow removal
- Have no person who is physically capable of carrying out snow removal living in your home
- Reside in a single family, semi-detached or duplex dwelling in the city's urban area, and be the owner of such residence
- Agree to a waiver of claims against the Corporation of the City of St. Catharines for any property damage or other damage that may arise from the service provided
What does the program include?
If you qualify for the snow removal program, the City will remove snow from sidewalks that are fronting or abutting your property.
The program does not include the removal of snow from:
- Windrows created by the snowplow
- Driveways or walkways leading to your home
