Boulevard Grass Cutting Service
The City of St. Catharines offers a boulevard grass cutting service that includes grass cutting of the boulevard abutting the property of qualified seniors and persons with a disability.
Apply for the service
Please complete the Boulevard Grass Cutting Service Application and submit it either by mail or in person to City Hall at 50 Church St.
Applications are due by the last Friday in April.
Eligibility
You will need a statement of physician from your family doctor to apply for the program. To qualify for the boulevard grass cutting service service, you must:
- Have a disability that, in the opinion of your physician, makes you incapable of carrying out grass cutting of the City boulevard that fronts your residence and;
- Have no person living in the same dwelling unit who is physically capable of carrying out grass cutting of the bouelvard for you, and;
- Reside in a single family, semi-detached or duplex dwelling in the city's urban area, and be the owner of such residence, and;
- Agree to a waiver of claims against the Corporation of the City of St. Catharines for any property damage or other damage that may arise from the service provided.
What does the program include?
- If you qualify, the service will consist of grass cutting on the boulevard fronting and abutting the primary residence of a qualified applicant.
- The service does not include any grass beyond the limit of the City right of way
- Service frequency is at the discretion of the City. Service in weather dependent and will generally begin in May and conclude in September.
