Ethno-Cultural Organization Assistance Programs

The City of St. Catharines offers a financial assistance program to non-profit ethno-cultural organizations. The program covers 50 per cent of the City's portion of your organization's property tax payment.

Eligibility

To register for the ethno-cultural assistance program, your organization must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a registered charity or non-profit organization
  • Own and operate the property as an ethno-cultural centre
  • Be based and active in St. Catharines
  • Demonstrate sound financial and organizational management practices
  • Have a mandate to promote public understanding and awareness of ethno-cultural traditions, legacies, language, arts and trade
  • Provide programming or services that are open to the public and publicized city-wide
  • Be up to date with the payment of current property taxes

To be considered a charity in good standing, you must have a registration number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency.
