Support your community heritage and experience the many benefits membership brings, including:

Invitations to special programs and major exhibit openings

• Receive invitations by mail, email and through our newsletter for special programs, including concerts, book launches, public programming, major exhibits and more.

Discounted program and event rates

• Receive special discounted rates for programs and events open to the public, including lecture series, trivia nights and children's programming.
• Events that require regular museum admission fees are free!
• Receive a 10 per cent discount on photo and research requests, and room bookings.

Gift shop discounts

• Receive a 10 per cent discount on all regularly priced items in the gift shop, including books, souvenirs, specialty food items, jewelry, clothing and merchandise.

'Tales of the Twelve' museum newsletter

• Regularly receive the 'Tales of the Twelve' museum newsletter, bringing you the latest information on upcoming exhibits, events, behind-the-scenes activities, volunteer profiles and more.
• You can receive the newsletter by email or mail.

Cultivate a love of history with this exciting kids membership and subscription box for kids.

Members participate in a year-long quest (usually to defeat an evil historian who keeps changing the timeline) with a themed subscription box arriving every three months. Members also participate in members-only kids programming, including Museum Kids Meet-ups and fun side-quests.

Who's it for?

The membership programs and subscription boxes are designed for children, aged seven to 11. Each box is a curated experience that will appeal to children across that age range and will focus on a local history topic. Younger siblings who are also registered members are welcome to participate in Museum Kids Meet-Ups, but in-person programs are designed for children aged seven to 11.

What's included?

Museum Kids Meet-Ups

Museum Kids Meet-Ups welcome member participants to in-person programming accompanied by an adult. The 2025 Meet-Ups will take place on PD Days:

• June 6
• July 12 (Special Museum Kids Meet-Up)
• Aug. 16 (Special Museum Kids Meet-Up)
• Oct. 10
• Nov. 28

Detailed invitations to each Meet-Up will be emailed to members.

Quarterly Subscription Box

Each box includes a guided adventure full of interesting local history and photos, along with the instructions for the activities. Most materials to complete the craft are supplied, except scissors. 2025 subscription box release dates are: February, April, September, and October.

How much?

$52.40 plus tax for a one-year, four-box subscription, with included in-person programming. Shipping in Canada included. Please contact us to arrange for international shipping. Memberships are not transferable or shareable and every child attending in-person programming must have their own membership.

How do I sign up?

Visit ActiveSTC to register for a subscription box. Once you've made an account, search "Museum Kids" and follow the prompts. ActiveSTC works best on desktop computers.

Renewal

You will be contacted to renew annually before the date of your fourth mail-out.

Cancellation?

Cancel any time by contacting us before the next mail-out date. Pro-rated refunds will be issued based on remaining amount on subscription.
