The resources of the Region of Waterloo Library have been carefully developed by librarians who strive for a balanced, useful collection, which reflects community needs. The Region of Waterloo Library does not accept unsolicited donations of books, magazines, or audiovisual due to limited storage space and increased demands on library staff.
Books donated by local authors or of local historical significance, may be considered and must be accompanied by a signed Region of Waterloo Library Temporary Receipt Form. The form needs to be completed in person at a branch at the time of donation. Whenever possible, the Region of Waterloo Library will offer to purchase books by local authors, in lieu of accepting a donation. Information on registering with local book vendors will be provided to the author.
