Subscriptions

News and alerts allow your stakeholders to receive the latest news and alerts through email notifications. Individuals must subscribe to your news content to receive direct, automated emails.

Visit page reports in the i:Create Content Management System (i:Create) to see a full list of subscription history, unsubscription history, and current subscribers to each news item on your website.

Permissions

Please note that signing people up for mailing lists without their permission is not permitted. Both Canada and the United States have strict laws prohibiting unsolicited emails.

Send notifications to subscribers

Sending notifications for news items is the same process for regular pages on your website. To send newly released news items to subscribers, you can check off the “Send an email to subscribers” button in the pop-up box when you publish a news or alert page.

A field will appear where you can enter the subscriber update message to email out. The client will receive an email with your text, followed by the content from the page and a link to the web page.

Update content

Every time you choose to republish your content after making changes, this option becomes available again in the pop-up box. You can choose to send or not to send a notification depending on the importance of the update, e.g., if you make a small grammatical change; however, if you change the date of an event, you will want to notify subscribers.
