Enter the name of your feed. This will be the name you see when creating news pages, so make sure it clearly identifies the feed.
Social Media Integration
You can set news and alert pages to allow direct posting to social media feeds. When these pages are published, a list of active social feeds will appear. When you select a feed, a text box will open, which allows you to create a custom message for posting.
Social media feeds are attached to news and alerts pages through their category. Learn how to add social media feeds to news categories.
Add a social media feed
You need to first add feeds to the news and alerts before they can be included in a category.
Make sure you are logged out of any social media sites before proceeding. Failure to log out of sites may interfere with the authentication process.
To add a social media feed to your news categories:
- Log in to the i:Create Workbench to access the Social Media Manager module
- Select the Social Media Manager module from the “More +” dropdown menu located at the top of the screen
- Click the “Create” button at the top left of the screen to open the “Create New Feed” pop-up box
- Complete the necessary fields
- Click the “Create and Authorize” button to begin the authentication process by logging into the selected social media platform
Once a social media feed is authorized it should be available when creating news and alert categories. If you need to modify a feed, return to the social media manger and click the pencil icon next to the feed.
Create new feed details
Review the details you need to complete in order to create a new social media feed.
Select the preferred social media network from the dropdown menu. The most common will be Twitter and Facebook, although your organization may have additional options.
Social media companies often change how their tools work. These updates can cause your feeds to lose their authentication and stop posting. If for any reason your tool stops sending out updates, it will send a warning to the email address you enter here.
