Publishing news content

Once you've added edited your news or alert item, you need to publish the page so that it will appear on your live website.

Modifying the posted date

After making edits to a news item, you have the option to modify its posted date. In the dialog box that appears when you publish the item, check the "Update Posted Date" checkbox, located under the Publish Date and the "Publish Immediately" checkbox. This allows you to change the posted (published) date to a new date.

If you do not check the "Update Posted Date" checkbox, the news item will keep the same original published date that it had when it was first released.

When should I modify a posted date?

Generally, organizations tend to modify the posted date of an article when making significant content updates or changes to the article. If you are only making smaller grammatical edits or fixes that do not affect the original content, it's best to keep the article's original date.
