Link Checker

The Link Checker V3 tool allows you to run a broken link report to see if your website has any hyperlinks that are broken. A broken link means that the link is no longer working. This is a great tool to help you keep your website up-to-date.

To access the Link Check V3 too, select “More+” from the Utility Bar located in the i:Create Content Management System (i:Create) workbench (back end). From the dropdown menu, choose the “Link Check V3.”

Create a link check report

From the Link Checker V3 screen:

  • Select the “Add Report” button from the toolbar located near the top of the page
  • Using the “Check Type” dropdown menu, select either “Single Page” or “Whole Website”
  • Enter the page or website address (URL) in the “Starting URL” field
  • Click the “Add New Report” button to begin the report

View the report

Once the link checker has scanned the single page or website, the status of the report will change to completed and a “View Report” button will appear beside your report entry. You can select the “View Report” button to see a detailed broken link check. The report will describe the exact problem, such as a 404 Error, for each broken link detected. If you scanned the whole website, it will indicate the page names that broken links can be found on. After viewing the broken link report, you should edit and fix each of the broken links.

Delete a report

Select the “Delete” button next to the link checker report you want to delete. You will need to confirm that you want to delete the report in order to remove it completely from i:Create.
