You only need to set the “Class” field if you'd like your hyperlink to appear as a button.

Additional linking options

Linking to the Contact Manager
You can hyperlink email addresses from the Contact Manager directly onto a content page.
To create an email link:
- Highlight the text or image you want to hyperlink to an email address
- Click the “Select email to insert/update” button from the Edit Toolbar
- Choose the contact you want to link to by clicking the “>>” button to the left of the contact name
If the contact you want to hyperlink to is not in the list, you'll need to add the email address and contact in Contact Manager.
Email security
Never use an email address as the text you want to link because second parties are able to steal the address. Instead, you can email link text such as:
- Contact us by email
- Send us an email
The i:Create email hyperlink prevents the theft of your email address by hiding it behind a wall of code.
Create a telephone link
You can hyperlink a telephone address to make it easier for visitors using a cellphone to call your organization directly from your website.
To set up a telephone hyperlink:
- Highlight the phone number you want to link
- Enter the telephone number code into the “Link URL” field using the appropriate numbers to replace “5” below:
- tel:555-555-5555 (for telephone numbers without an extension)
- tel:555-555-5555,555 (for telephone numbers with an extension)
- Click the “Insert” button to add the hyperlink
Please note the exact spacing above.
Test your links
Always test your hyperlinks. Links that don't work are a leading cause of lost traffic on the web. You can check your links regularly to make sure they are functioning properly by using the i:Create Content Management System Link Checker.
Hyperlinking best practices
When creating hyperlinks, we recommend that you:
- Remove any blank spaces before and after the hyperlink
- Avoid including punctuation in hyperlinks
