Anchor Links
Anchor links allow you to hyperlink to different spots on a web page. You can create anchor links using the i:Create Content Management System Edit Toolbar.
Add an anchor to a page
When naming the anchor, you need to use dashes between words. For example, “hours-of-operation” is an acceptable anchor name. We recommend that you use clear language that describes the content you are anchoring to.
To add an anchor to your page:
- Place your cursor on your page where you want to link to
- Select the “Insert/Edit Anchor” button in the “Edit Toolbar”
- Enter a name for the anchor in the “Anchor Name” field
- Click the “Insert” button to add the anchor
Link to the anchor
Once you've added an anchor to the page, you can now create a hyperlink that will take visitors directly to that part of the page.
To link to the anchor:
- Highlight the text you want to hyperlink to the anchor
- Select the “Insert/Edit Link” button in the “Edit Toolbar”
- Click the “Anchors” dropdown menu
- Choose the name of the anchor you want to link to
- Click the “Insert” button to create the hyperlink
Test the link
After you've saved your changes and published the page, you should click the link to make sure that it takes you to the appropriate content on the page.
