Widget from External Site

With a website built using the i:Create Content Management System (i:Create), you can embed a variety of widgets from external websites directly on a content page. This makes it easy for users to access your services all in one place.

Embed a third party widget using the Edit toolbar

To embed a third party widget on a content page using the "Edit toolbar, you need to:

  1. Navigate to the appropriate page in i:Create
  2. Place your cursor in the editable field where you'd like to embed the widget
  3. From the “Edit toolbar,” select “Insert/edit Embedded Media”
  4. Select “Iframe/Youtube” from the “Type” dropdown menu
  5. In the “File/URL” field paste the website URL address for the widget you'd like to embed. If the widget provided a full embed code, you'll use the URL found inside the src= portion of the code.
  6. Add a descriptive name to the iframe for accessibility by filling out the title field
  7. Select the “Insert” button to complete the process

When using the edit toolbar to add a widget with the URL address it will set a width instead of a percentage. If you'd like to set a percentage, you'll need to use the "HTML Source Editor."

Embed a third party widget using the HTML Source Editor

To embed a third party widget on a content page using the HTML Source Editor, you need to:

  1. Navigate to the appropriate page in i:Create
  2. Place your cursor in the editable field where you'd like to embed the widget
  3. Select the “HTML Source Editor” from to top page menu (where the publish buttons are located)

This will open the "HTML Source Editor Plugin" pop up box. From here, you need to:

  1. Select the "Main_Content" tab 
  2. Hit enter beside </div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
  3. Paste in your HTML iframe code 
  4. Select the "Submit" button to save your changes

Publish the page

Make sure to publish the page in order for the embedded widget to appear on your live website. Embedded widgets do not always display properly in edit mode or preview mode, so you may need to publish the page in order to see the final result.
