Copy a Page
The copy function allows you to create a new page that is a copy of an existing page. You can use this to create a content template to use and edit for different pages. This differs from cloning a page, which creates an exact clone of a page to be used in different areas of the site. With clone pages, if you edit the “master” page, all clones update and cannot be individually edited. A copy page is a duplicate you can edit for a different purpose (e.g., a permit or application page template).
The i:Create Content Management System (i:Create) does not support copying pages from one vertical to another. You can only copy a page within the same vertical.
Copy a page
From the i:Create workbench (back end):
- Select “Page List” from the Utility Bar at the top of the page
- Find the page you want to copy and select the checkbox next to the page
- Click the “Copy” button in the toolbar above the list of pages
A new page will appear in the Page List with the same name as the original page followed by the word “copy.”
Update the page properties
To continue with your new page, change the page and file name by:
- Selecting the checkbox next to the copied page
- Clicking the “Properties” button in the toolbar above the list of pages
- Entering a new page name in the following fields: Page Name, File Name, SEO Title
- Clicking the “Save changes” button (after you've entered the above fields).
Once you have your new page, if you'd like to move content from another document, use the copy and paste functions.
Update Menu Manager
If you add, delete, rename or copy a page, you need to update the page in Menu Manager.
