2SLGBTQI+

During the month of June, we celebrate Pride. Check out the Pride in Durham video to learn more.

In Durham Region, we are committed to promoting a safe, respectful and inclusive community that values and embraces characteristics that make us unique. Having a sense of belonging is critical to our personal and collective success. No matter what our gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation is, we should feel supported and welcomed at Durham Region.

Every June we celebrate Pride to recognize the value and diversity that two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer (or questioning) and intersex (2SLGBTQI+) communities bring to the region.

Below is a curated hub of resources to provide 2SLGBTQI+ education, information and support.

Be sure to check out Youth Pride Durham.

This friendly, inclusive celebration for youth, children and families who are part of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, as well as allies, is taking place on June 1 at the Regional Headquarters.
