Corporate Services

The Regional Municipality of Durham's Corporate Services Department is made up of several divisions that provide valuable services to the organization.

Human Resources provides a variety of services to both current and prospective employees including:

  • Health, Safety and Wellness
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Labour Relations
  • Talent and Acquisition and Organization Development
  • Human Resources Information Systems and Finance
  • Human Resources Policies

The division strives to provide ongoing support to its employees throughout the employee lifecycle, from initial onboarding, during their tenure and offboarding to retirement.

The Human Resources division strives to ensure Durham Region is a competitive employer, attracting a skilled and diverse workforce.

Information Technology provides information technology and computer support to the organization. This group plays a role in:

  • Providing regulatory compliance.
  • Managing Regional email and website networks.
  • Overseeing wireless connectivity.
  • Providing technology security.
  • Supporting desktop software.
  • Developing applications.
  • Providing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services.

Legislative Services carries out the statutory duties of the clerk as outlined in the Municipal Act and other provincial acts. Legislative Services acts as secretariat to Durham Regional Council and its committees, manages Regional records and archives programs, and co-ordinates requests for information and privacy complaints under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).

Service Durham is the customer experience management division of the Region of Durham’s Corporate Services Department, dedicated to delivering exceptional, modernized service experiences through myDurham 311—the Region’s centralized, non-emergency point of contact. Leveraging digital platforms and innovative service models, Service Durham focuses on providing inclusive, accessible, and integrated services that meet the evolving needs of our customers (residents, businesses, and visitors).

By driving service excellence and enhancing public access through multiple channels including online, by phone, and in person, Service Durham ensures quick, convenient, and consistent customer experience. This customer-centric and collaborative approach streamlines service requests, delivers timely information, and fosters personalized experiences that reinforce the Region’s commitment to service innovation and accessibility.
