Durham Region offers birding at our Nonquon Water Pollution Control Plant Lagoons (the Lagoons) annually between April 1 and October 31, from dawn to dusk.
The Lagoons are located in the Township of Scugog and can be accessed from Concession 8 (Scugog Line 8), one road north of the Scugog Waste Management Facility (Transfer Station) at 1623 Reach Street, Port Perry.
A permit must be purchased in advance of entering the Lagoons and are available for $16 per permit. Each person entering the Lagoons must have their own access card. No dogs or pets are allowed.

Payment by phone
Following completion of the permit application, a representative will contact you to process your payment over the telephone. You will be required to provide your credit card information over the telephone to one of our representatives.
Payment by mail (personal cheque)
A personal cheque made payable to 'The Regional Municipality of Durham' and completed and printed permit application form will be required to be mailed to:

Bring a printed copy of your completed permit application to one of the following locations to make a payment in person by debit, VISA, or MasterCard (cash is not accepted).
