Spring Carnival - May 25, 2025
Rideau Artist of the Year Competition - June 7, 2025
The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum invites artists to the picturesque heart of the Rideau Canal corridor to create an original work of art, in the tradition of en plein air.
This competition is open to artists of all mediums. Artists will have one day to complete an original work of art and submit it to the museum’s gallery, where they will then be reviewed by a Jury. Movies Under the Stars - July 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14, & 21, 2025
The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum and the Town of Smiths Falls welcome you to Movies Under the Stars this summer. Bring the family and a blanket or lawn chair and spend your summer evening watching a family-friendly FREE movie at Centennial Park. Movie selections include a variety of new releases, fan favourites and family-friendly films. Every week of Movies Under the Stars, there will also be pre-show activities before the movie begins and concessions available for purchase. Hillcrest Cemetery Tour - September 28, 2025
Step into the world of history and superstition as you tiptoe through the grounds of the Hillcrest Cemetery in Smiths Falls. A guide will lead guests through the oldest part of the cemetery, sharing stories of the Town's earliest residents alongside cemetery traditions, symbolism and their origins.
Adult tickets (18+) are $15 per person, Youth tickets (Ages 12-17) are $10 per person. For more information, contact 613-283-6311 or heritagehouse@smithsfalls.ca. Tour begins at 1:00 p.m. Preregistration is required by contacting the museum or pre-purchasing your tickets online.

Haunted Heritage House - October 17,18, 24 & 25, 2025
Join the museum at 11 Old Slys Road for the spookiest tour of the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum... if you dare. Are you brave enough to wander through the rooms of the museum in the dark?

Holiday Heritage House - December 7, 2025
Kick off the holiday season with everyone's favourite Jolly old soul at the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum. Guests will be offered tours of the Museum's period rooms, decorated for the season, with costumed guides who will share the history of holiday traditions in Eastern Ontario and their origins. Enjoy the sounds of holiday music with a cup of tea or apple cider alongside a homemade seasonal dessert. For admission rates or to book tickets, please contact the museum.
Candlelit Christmas - December 11, 2025
Museum Ghost Tour - October 9, 2025
Tip toe through the candlelit corridors of the Smiths Falls Heritage House as a costumed interpreter leads you through tales of local ghost sightings, oral traditions and mysterious happenings of the Smiths Falls area and the museum. Each story has been discreetly shared by local residents, carefully selected from local news articles or experienced by museum staff and volunteers working in this eerily beautiful 1860's home.
This event runs tours every half hour between 7 pm - 9 pm. We ask that you please come during your booked time slot. $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or by contacting the museum. Pre-registration required.
Private tour bookings are also available throughout the month of October by appointment: 613-283-6311 or heritagehouse@smithsfalls.ca. Please contact us for tours with children to ensure the stories are appropriate for their age group. More spots can be made available for children, by request and where possible tours will be altered to a more family friendly theme.
