Parks, Trails and Playgrounds

Smiths Falls is home to beautiful parks, trails and outdoor spaces. These areas are managed by the Community Services department. More information can be found below or by calling 613-283-4124 x 6105.

Centennial Park, 2-22 Confederation Drive

This beautiful park is known for its impressive flower installments and fountains. Located between two Rideau Canal locks, the park is often active with boat visitors during the boating season. It features a lovely walking path with plenty of benches and picnic tables along the way.

Water Tower,Confederation Drive

The open grass area under the Water Tower is the perfect place to enjoy the sights along the Rideau Canal. This area is home to the impressive ‘Celebration of Lights' event every December.

Victoria Park,30 Lombard Street

This park is in the heart of Smiths Falls and features the iconic yellow airplane as well as a playground. There is also a tourist information centre where you can obtain information on Smiths Falls plus boating and docking information.

Lower Reach Park,12-B Old Slys Road

Over 60 acres of parkland along the Rideau Canal. This impressive area features a play structure and splash pad, along with ball diamonds, soccer fields, beach volleyball, basketball court and tennis courts. A walking trail surrounds the park area and continues along the waterfront. Treed areas provide good shade and multiple picnic tables create the ideal place to enjoy this beautiful park.

Lower Reach Picnic Shelter,12-B Old Slys Road

Located centrally in Lower Reach Park, this shelter provides good shade and multiple picnic tables. Public washrooms are close-by in the attached building.

Walton Shelter,30 Lombard Street

Perfect place to stop and enjoy the waterfront sights along the Rideau Canal. This shelter features multiple picnic tables and is close to the play structure and swing set in Victoria Park.

Cataraqui Trail, entrance near Lombard Street

The Cataraqui Trail is a 103.0-kilometer point-to-point trail with an entrance off Lombard Street and is rated as moderate. This year-round, multi-use recreation trail follows the former CN line from Smiths Falls to Strathcona.

Gleeson Dog Park, 25 Old Slys Road

Off-leash dog park creates a safe place for dogs to run and interact. This area features separated spaces for small and large dogs as well as a shelter and benches.
