Smiths Falls and area residents are invited to attend the Volunteer Fair taking place on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Memorial Community Center, in the upstairs hall. This event offers a unique opportunity for individuals to engage with various community service organizations, learn about their programs, and explore volunteer opportunities available within the community.
The Volunteer Fair is also an excellent platform for high school students seeking to fulfill their mandatory community volunteer hours required for graduation. With a wide range of organizations in attendance, students can find meaningful volunteering experiences that align with their interests and contribute to their personal and professional development.
Whether you're passionate about sports, social causes, mentoring, local businesses, or animal welfare, the Volunteer Fair promises to connect you with like-minded organizations that make a positive impact in Smiths Falls. Attendees will have the chance to engage in one-on-one conversations with representatives from the following organizations:
|
| "The Volunteer Fair is a wonderful opportunity for people to find out how to get involved and make a difference in Smiths Falls," said Mayor Shawn Pankow. ”We encourage all residents, including our high school students to attend this event and discover the countless ways to support and learn more about the community." |
Community service clubs and volunteer organizations interested in hosting a booth at the fair are encouraged to register online HERE. If you have any questions, contact Kerri Barlow, Economic and Community Development Coordinator at kbarlow@smithsfalls.ca or call 613-283-4124 x1127.
